Dear Friends!

That's What Teens Say is returning to Bloomington-Normal IL presented by the Family Community Resource Center!  We are looking for 10-15 amazing Teen Girls to participate in our 3-day teen empowerment program that will give them skills and confidence to last a lifetime!

The girls will come together with our mentors to discover the stories that make them unique. They will join us on campus at Heartland Community College (ACEC) where they will engage in confidence-building exercises, improv games, creative writing, and public speaking training. At the end of the 3 Days, they will stand on stage, loud and proud, and share their personal stories in front of a live audience at the Heartland Community College - As troth Auditorium!

We encourage all girls to apply!  No public speaking experience is necessary! If you know a teen girl who could benefit from this incredible 3-day experience, NOMINATE A TEEN GIRL HERE

Then, ask them to FILL OUT A TEEN GIRL PARTICIPANT APPLICATION HERE. We want the girls to know a little about what the weekend entails, so they feel ready and excited.

Applications are open through October 31, 2025. The fee for the weekend is $175 per girl, with meals and materials included. Scholarships are available, simply by request on the application form.

Wine, rhythm, and community—celebrate all three at the 2nd Annual Jazz at the Vineyard, hosted by the Family Community Resource Center.

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of live music, fine wine, and powerful impact. Whether you're a jazz lover, wine enthusiast, or supporter of local families, this event is the perfect way to spend your Sunday.

That’s What Teens Say Storytelling Showcase

On January 14th, 2024 The Family Community Resource Center partnered with The She Said Project to launch an exciting new initiative called "That's What Teens Say" (TWTS) program to our community. The program was first developed and introduced by The She Said Project in Champaign, Illinois.

Its purpose is to empower and inspire girls to express their thoughts, embrace their individuality, and celebrate their unique qualities. For this three- day program we helped teens develop their self-awareness, communication, confidence, writing, and public speaking skills.
